Current build beta 0.1 — first tester build
This is the first build to leave the shop. Everything below is new. The web app and the iPhone app share one account; updates to the web app are live the moment they ship, and iPhone updates arrive through TestFlight.
Beta 0.1
- Inventory. Laser models and units with FDA/IEC classes, accession and variance numbers, safety features, rentals, Laserworld/RTI blocking, and the control patch (FB4 serial or DMX/Art-Net universe + address).
- Shows. Dates, crew invites, effects catalog, placements with block reasons, zones with the separation rules, FAA site fields for outdoor shows, per-show time zone.
- Past shows. Quick add and CSV bulk import with a validation preview.
- iPhone app. Offline-first: shows, placements, zones and sign-offs, hashed photo evidence with laser snapshots, pre-show checklists with the Form 3636 roll-up, power readings, issues with safety lockout, deadlines with badge and push registration, and the calculator.
- Deadlines. Generated from show dates, state, city and setting, with working-day math and holidays; FAA exemption for fully terminated beams; registration prerequisites; annual report and variance renewal; maintenance tasks. Reminders in-app, by push and email, and an ICS calendar feed.
- Annual report. Form 3636 drafted from the period's shows, gaps listed, editable, PDF export, mark filed.
- Paperwork engine. Form 3147, Form 3640 and supplements, the CDRH cover sheet with its checklist, FAA 7140-1 with a Laser Configuration Worksheet per projector, state notices (TX, IL, AZ, NY), Form 3632, a per-show paperwork list and the on-site document pack.
- Calculator. NOHD, SZED, CZED and LFED from FAA AC 70-1B and ANSI Z136.1, unit-tested against the FAA's worked examples; saves to the placement and feeds the FAA worksheet.
- Celebrations. A little laser animation when a show is completed or a document is filed. Switch it off in Settings if it's not your thing.
Known limits in 0.1
- The drawing generator (plan and elevation drawings from numbers) is not built yet: upload your own drawings for Form 3640 Part 9.
- The calculator covers visible continuous-wave beams with apertures up to 1 cm. Pulsed, scanned-beam MPE cases and invisible wavelengths are flagged, not computed.
- State rules beyond TX, IL, AZ and NY are listed but inactive until each is verified with the agency.
- Adding placements and unlinking zones from lasers is web-only; the phone edits what's already there.
